Enjoy these quick tips for keeping ants and other crawly bugs out of the camper.
It may not be the only way to prevent ant infestations, but it certainly is an excellent first stage preventative measure in the process of keeping your camper bug free. Other things you can do to keep bugs out include these:
Spray the parts of the camper which contact the ground, with surface spray to prevent crawling insects climbing in from ground areas;
Sweep out food crumbs daily while the camper is in use;
Wash all plates and utensils immediately after use and don’t store dirty items or uncovered food items on the benchtops;
Keep the camper kitchen clean using a “cleaning spray” on all surfaces after use;
Owning a new camper trailer really can be a paradox.
Often it’s just another of those added responsibilities we seem to take on, with our already over stressed lifestyles in a bid to get some free time to relax and enjoy a more simplified existence!
That’s why I suggest buying USED rather than NEW when it comes to camper trailers, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Like most things new, you loose a large portion of the resale value the moment you take ownership. At least with a Used Camper you have less to loose and more to gain!
Don’t dispair, there will always be an ongoing supply of good quality used campers for sale, like those who purchase new then decide to sell in 12 months or find they rarely use their camper trailer, caravan or campervan, and decide to sell it when it’s couple of years older. In both cases the Camper would likely be in great condition. I know of many cases where people have purchased under these conditions.
Here’s the answer to the question “should you cook food inside the camper and what are the alternatives?”
I’m about to share something with you that most people experience with their new campervan, caravan or camper trailer.
When you purchase your camper you may decide like most proud owners, not to cook inside to avoid saturating the canvas with odours which over time can give your camper a bad smell. At first it seems like something only fastidious owners would do, but let me put it to you this way; If you were camping in a tent, it is common practice to do your cooking outside in the camp kitchen rather than inside because the smells and fumes dont ventilate well and absorb into the tent fabric.
Camper trailers and even caravans to some degree are no different except the cooking facilities in a Jayco, Goldstream or Coromal camper trailer (to name the more likely types) are more for convenience than necessity. Ideal if you’re stuck Read more »
